Ecuadorian Chocolate
This chocolate is imported by Nutty Steph's directly from Quito, Ecuador, where it is roasted, hulled and conched to a carefully crafted perfection by our friends at Ecuatoriana de Chocolates. The beans have been purchased by this Ecuadorian company from the Aprocane Association of small family-owned-and-operated cacao farms. These small jungle plots are rich with a balanced diversity of trees, including bananas, papayas, palm trees, teak and other fine hardwoods. It is no wonder that they generate the rare Arriba cacao beans that are cultivated exclusively in the sweet Ecuadorian sun. Nutty Steph's has been to these forests and met the people who have organized to protect them. We were delighted to find a shared reverence with the Aprocane Association members for the fine cacao and the enchanting aroma that makes it taste so good.
