Nutty Steph's Trail Mix Ingredients For years people asked, “Hey, Steph, why don’t you make a granola trail mix?” And my response was, “Too busy.” But the truth was I hated trail mix. Until I found these beautiful bits. Point to each bit and you, too, will see the light at the end of the trail.
Raisins. These beauties are so different from the dried up rock-hard raisins of my past that I can’t call them raisins. They are big soft sweet bundles of succulent fruity goodness. But you can call them Flame Raisins, if you must. Peanuts. I loathe the sodden peanuts that bulk out most trail mixes. I’d pick ‘em out to get to the good stuff. Until I found these crisp jumbo Virginia peanuts. Now I pick through the mix hunting peanuts. “Here peanuts.” Chocolate. I tasted hundreds of superb chocolates before I finally chose. Tough job. It had to be big, smooth, sweet, with just the right bite. This is not a chip, its an Organic vegan dark Belgium chocolate pistole. Pistole. Pistole. The Dime is not included. It’s in there for scale. Or to trigger childhood memories of when your mom baked coins into your birthday cake and you had to be careful not to choke on them, but you were happy when you found a dime.
